Ron Abate

Director

Ron is a Past Grand Knight in Council 2112 and an officer in Assembly 0162. He is very active in his council, leading the charge in the annual Coats for Kids program, volunteering weekly at the Orlando JMJ Pregnancy Center, serving on the recruiting, membership and retention committees, and supporting many other events sponsored by his Council. He is a member of the Color Corps and Honor Guard in his Assembly. 


Ron served on active duty in the Navy for 6 years and in the Navy Reserve for 25 years, retiring in 2008 as a Captain. He was employed by the Department of Defense for 34 years, the last 20 years as a Senior Systems Engineer Supervisor with the Naval Air Warfare Center Training Systems Division (NAWCTSD) simulation command, in Orlando, Florida until retiring in December 2017.


Since 2008, he has been actively employed as a speaker and subject matter expert by the Yellow Ribbon Reintegration Program (YRRP), a Department of Defense program. As a Cadre speaker, he promotes the well-being of deploying and returning from deployment National Guard and Reserve members and their families by connecting them with critical resources throughout the military deployment cycle, and by facilitating through lectures and training. 


​Ron and his wife Colleen have been happily married since 1981 and reside in Orlando, Florida, where they are very active in their church, the Knights of Columbus, and their local community.
